The Curator
Dr Matthew Barber-Rowell FRSA is the Founder of Spaces of Hope.
Matthew is married with a 1 year old son. He holds a PhD from Goldsmiths, University of London, in Theology and Religious Studies. His doctoral work offered a new paradigm and consultative methodology for faith based organisations, which is the basis for Curating Spaces of Hope. Matthew’s current agenda, is exploring themes of dialogue, leadership and shared values in the city. Through this agenda he has tested Spaces of Hope in new and diverse contexts in north west England in Liverpool City Region and Greater Manchester, and through digital networks around the world. This builds on work Matthew has done over the last 8 years, through a varied portfolio of work deploying Spaces of Hope and developing local leadership that responds to global crises and explores approaches to building resilience. This portfolio includes Ecological Transformation work with Diocese of Manchester. Matthew is a published author in the journals of Church and State, Sociology Study, Social Policy Review and Journal of Dialogue Studies. He is also editing his first monograph for publication with SCM Press at the end of 2024.
