The Spaces of Hope Podcast is an opportunity to engage in dialogue about the sources of hope shaping the world today, the challenges that we see, and the ways that we think we can move forward together. This podcast is to coincide with the launch of Curating Spaces of Hope: Transformational Leadership for Uncertain Times, which is the first book by Dr Matthew Barber-Rowell, published by SCM Press. This book sets out a 15 year journey during which time the Curating Spaces of Hope Paradigm and the Transformational Leadership approach have been cocreated. Each guest has been invited to participate on the basis that we have met during the cocreation of Spaces of Hope over recent years!
Episode 1 - Julie Guegan - President of the Global Collaboration InstituteIn this episode, Matthew and Julie discuss themes of Transformational Leadership, Meta-Collaboration, and finding "the key for the good door". This encompasses the role that different worldviews play in shaping Leadership, and develops the idea of the Transformational Leadership approach as the 'inner compass'. We explored the idea that we need to say "bye bye" to some practcies, but we also need to honour wisdom and things that endure. Matthew said "it was a pleasure to dialogue with Julie, who spoke from her experience as a Senior Policy Advisor at the European Commission, and since establishing the Global Collaboration Institute in 2022".
